Omega-3-rich formula based on Antarctic Krill Oil

Oméga 3 - Huile de Krill d'antarctique
Huile de Krill d'antarctique - Oméga 3

Our omega-3-rich formula withAntarctic krill oil is of the highest quality and sustainably sourced from Antarctic fisheries throughAker BioMarine™, which works with the World Wildlife Foundation Norway.

This 500 mg supplement contains omega-3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA) and phospholipids - 'good' fats that are necessary for a healthy body and mind.

It also contains a powerful antioxidant, astaxanthin. Antioxidants protect our cells from damage caused by free radicals, unstable substances suspected of contributing to certain chronic diseases. Unlike many other antioxidants, astaxanthin crosses the blood-brain barrier, where it can protect the eye, brain and central nervous system from free radical damage.

People use thekrill oil for the same reasons they use fish oil, linseed oil or other omega-3 fatty acids. However, unlike fish oil, krill oil does not cause fish burps or leave an aftertaste, a common side effect of fish oil. Krill oil is also more easily absorbed by the body and contains higher levels of astaxanthin than fish oil.

Omega 3 fatty acids
Essential fatty acids (EFAs) include both omega-3 fatty acids (rich in the vital compounds DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)) and omega-6 fatty acids.

EFAs cannot be manufactured by the body, but are beneficial for general health and, more specifically, for the brain, vision, heart health, immune function, mood support and metabolism. They must therefore be obtained from our diet.

In a perfect world, we could all get enough EFAs from the fresh fish we eat. Unfortunately, due to environmental pollution and poor eating habits, this is no longer the case.

This is no longer a reality. Studies show that eating fish can potentially expose you to a high level of contamination from industrial pollutants and toxins such as mercury, PCBs, heavy metals and radioactive poisons.

L'krill oil is a unique way of simultaneously providing the body with antioxidants, phospholipids and omega-3 oils. What's more, it contains antioxidants not found in fish or cod liver oil.

Unlike fish oils, krill oil transports omega 3s in the form of phospholipids - liposomes that deliver fatty acids directly to the body's cells. To date, scientific evidence has shown that the safest and most effective carriers of EPA and DHA are these phospholipids. Standard fish oils (and inferior brands of krill oil) lack this phospholipid complex..

Phospholipids are important because they are the building blocks of cell membranes and regulate cell transport by acting as 'guardians'. In this role, they protect cell membranes from attack by free radicals. This unique relationship between phospholipids and omega-3 fatty acids greatly facilitates the passage of fatty acid molecules through the intestinal wall.

This phenomenon is beneficial in two respects:

  •  It makes the omega-3 fatty acids in high-quality krill oil significantly more bioavailable than those in fish oil, allowing EPA and DHA to penetrate cells directly.
  • It improves the omega 3/omega 6 ratio. Although some omega-6 fats are good for your health, the balance between omega-6 and omega-3 fats is crucial. Most people today consume an overabundance of omega-6 fats.

The power of antioxidants

Antioxidants protect the body's cells from damage caused by free radicals, unstable substances that are thought to contribute to certain chronic diseases and the ageing process.

Krill oil has an extraordinary capacity to absorb free radicals (ORAC) and its antioxidant properties are over 40 times more powerful than those of fish oil.

The EPA part of the phospholipids in krill oil contains the antioxidant astaxanthin. The algae on which krill feed produces a bright red pigment, astaxanthin, which gives them and other crustaceans (e.g. lobsters and prawns) their reddish-pink colour. Unlike many other antioxidants, astaxanthin crosses the blood-brain barrier.
It can protect the eye, brain and central nervous system from damage caused by free radicals. It can also protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV rays and reduce the risk of sunburn. collagenamong others.

Premenstrual syndrome

Taking krill oil supplements can have very beneficial effects on women's health and well-being. In particular, it can alleviate the symptoms of dysmenorrhoea (a gynaecological condition characterised by severe uterine pain during menstruation), as well as emotional symptoms.
(a gynaecological condition characterised by severe uterine pain during menstruation), as well as the emotional symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

Cholesterol

Krill oil is being studied as a natural remedy for high cholesterol. It is thought to increase levels of HDL or 'good' cholesterol and considerably reduce the harmful effects of LDL or 'bad' cholesterol.

Combined with the omega-3 fatty acids it naturally contains and its anti-inflammatory properties, krill oil may act to reduce the risk of
heart attacks and support the cardiovascular system by helping to :

  • keep cholesterol at a healthy level
  • reduce bad cholesterol
  • avoid chronic inflammation, known to increase the risk of heart disease
  • reduce fatty deposits in the coronary arteries and, in general, keep them clean and in good condition.

Arthritis

Krill oil has significant anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce chronic inflammation, such as rheumatoid arthritis and other joint pains. This is thought to be because krill oil works by inhibiting inflammatory mediators such as thromboxane, prostacyclin and leukotrienes produced by cells in response to inflammation.

Weight management

Krill oil can promote weight loss by controlling glycaemia and reducing hypercholesterolaemia. The unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids it contains are thought to promote a phenomenon known as 'fuel allocation' (the storage of glucose in the form of glycogen in the muscles), while diverting fatty acids from fat synthesis to oxidative pathways. In other words, omega-3 fatty acids stimulate the use of fatty acids as fuel rather than in fat deposition (i.e. krill oil can help burn fat).
fats).

Depression

Krill oil is used in the treatment of resistant depression and cognitive disorders, but it's not just in the treatment of depression that EPA has beneficial effects: taking pure EPA supplements also has beneficial effects on concentration, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, mood, schizophrenia and depression.
